This is English speaking practice you do out loud, on your own, with nobody watching. You get a real situation, a real question, and ten seconds to answer it. Your microphone listens, and I check whether you said the thing a British person would actually say — not just whether your grammar was technically correct. There's a new conversation every week and it's completely free.
What do I need?
A phone or computer with a microphone, and a browser that can listen — Chrome, Edge, or Safari all work, on both phone and computer. Firefox can't do speech recognition, so use one of the others. Nothing to download and nothing to sign up for. Your browser turns your speech into text to check it; nothing is recorded, saved, or sent to me.
Want someone to actually talk back?
This page is practice on your own, and it'll take you a long way — but it can't have a real conversation with you. For that, I run live group English speaking classes every Sunday at 2pm London time for intermediate and advanced learners, and I teach one-to-one lessons if you'd rather have my full attention.
